Description: Edun is a man of average height, standing somewhere between a Golduck and a Haxorus. Short Houndour-black hair covers his head, chin, and quite frankly, the rest of him. Burly muscles spread out under his Pyroar-brown skin. He…he likes to compare himself to Pokémon.
Edun wears dark brown breeches over sturdy work boots. A white linen shirt keeps him cool when working in the sun or with heavy shipments. A heavy leather jerkin slips over that to provide a small measure of warmth and protection.
Bio: Edun captains a small trading ship called Gloria’s Brilliance. He built it with the help of his siblings, two sisters and a brother, all younger. The sister closest to him in age, named Molly (though she prefers ‘Moll’), helps him run his ship. The two of them, with a small crew, trade various goods all along the region. They often take work from those others would look down on, even rival houses.
Edun is good-natured, but quiet as he likes to focus on the task at hand. Quick to notice discrepancies in paperwork or the rigging of the sails, he is an efficient captain. While a strict taskmaster, he prefers to joke with his crew, finding being amicable grows bonds stronger. Having two powerful swimming Pokémon with him means he wastes no time when the ship is becalmed. Ropes are tied and they head for the nearest port to wait out the dead air.
Edun treats his Pokémon well, feeding them properly and giving them proper exercise daily, even when stuck on a ship for hours a day. Easier when two can swim next to the ship. He considers them his greatest treasure, Edun would and has taken blows meant for them. Moll gives him grief about it all the time, saying he needs to stop before he loses a limb. He waves it off with a laugh, often missing her concerned head shake. He knows his sister worries he’ll push himself too far, but Edun refuses to work any easier than those around him who give their all.
He keeps his darker emotions bottled up and hidden, so no one ever sees him angry or sad. Edun’s not sure what might happen if his angst overflows. He just tries to start each day anew and put the sorrows to the side.

POKEMON INFORMATION


Pokemon: Vaporeon
Nickname: Gloria
Gender: Female

Gloria was discovered in a store room of the Water House scrounging around. She was an Eevee at the time, and apparently she was actively looking for a Water Stone, which the house keeps in stock. Vaporeons are tough, she explained later. Edun came across her while getting supplies and made quite the mess while chasing her. She eventually did find the Water Stones, falling into the basket a Normal type, and emerging a Water type.  She'd heard of Vaporeons being capable of disappearing in water and reforming later so Gloria's escape plan involved the pipes for the house's fountain. Alas, suddenly being able to do something does not mean knowing how to do something. Edun managed to capture her thrashing around in the pool trying to vanish. He was given responsibility over her, and eventually gained her trust and loyalty, becoming one of his closest friends.

Diaphone was the first Pokémon Edun ever received. Of course, he was a Whismur then, and Edun was just a child. Apparently received by his parents as an egg, the Whisper Pokémon was hatched only days after Edun himself was born. Diaphone grew up next to Edun and may as well have been his sibling. Around age six the two were best friends and it was made official that Diaphone would be Edun's first Pokémon. The two quickly got the hang of working together in battle, and when Diaphone evolved into a Loudred, he was taught Water Pulse. Diaphone was there as Edun explored his interests, built his first boat, swam to shore when that boat sunk. He saw Edun fall in love with the sea and came to share his passion, joining him as his sailing excursions became longer. When Edun bought the boat that would become the Gloria's Brilliance, no one was as happy for him as Diaphone. He joined his friend on this ship and was a permanent part of the crew from then on.

One stormy night found Edun, Diaphone, and the crew at sea. Unprepared for the swells, there was little Edun could do to prevent his then Loudred from going overboard. He's not the best swimmer and so Edun was quick to tie a long line to his waist and dive in after him. Brizo happened to be under the water and see this act of sacrifice. A human still has trouble keeping himself and a Loudred afloat in those waters, and Brizo knew they wouldn't survive. The Kingdra had no reason to help, but highly respected this human's effort to save a Pokémon. She calmed the water around them and helped them back to their ship. Seeing him work on getting the ship back to shore without anyone else going over inspired Brizo to follow him wherever he went. Edun did not realize just how powerful an ally he'd gained through his heroic gesture.
